WELCOME TO APE CO

Get stronger. Move better. Grow together.

Understanding our approach:

EDUCATION

In our Movement class you can expect to receive education, understanding, opportunities to dig in, time to experiment and work with trial and error, rehabilitation and support to work with your unique body. The result is that with patience and dedication, you will build a robust user manual for your body. You will know how to connect and disconnect, how to be hard and how to be soft, how to be strong and how to be flexible, how to be quick and how to be still.

RESULTS

Because our training is potent and dives deep, we deliver results. Give us 2-3 sessions a week to show you what this practice can do for you. We promise to teach you how to push against your comfort zone in not just physical but mental ways. It’s never too late to regain movements that you’ve lost either in your body or in your way of thinking. We guarantee you will be pushed and challenged at the right level for you.

PLAY

Aging starts with loss of play. We were all told to sit still or be serious as children and slowly play was taken away from us. When we lose play, our movement patterns change drastically. We become stiff and robotic. We begin to have pains in our bodies from lack of diverse movement. Playfulness is key to health and so our facility is our playground. At times, class might feel like adult recess. In addition, when you are laughing and playing, you are in the present moment and letting your brain rest in the present moment is powerful medicine.

COMMUNITY

We work with students of diverse abilities, injuries, ages, sizes, and backgrounds. In classes it’s common to have both athletes and retirees working together at times. Partner work is important to our practice and gives our students the opportunity at times to step into the role of teacher. This is part of our process and one of the tools to help you learn. This approach also creates a rich and stimulating community of people who gather around a common value, that of striving to be a better human in this short time we have in this body.

Preparing for your first class:

  • We will work on joint mobility, spine health, hand balancing, strength in different positions, connection and moving well with the ground.

You will learn programming for your unique body that will help you get more out of an all levels classes.

We teach all levels, ages and abilities. You can expect to see a diverse group of students in our facility. You’ll get chances to work with partners as well as individually. We feel that this is part of the magic and makes our training unique.

Denver Facility classes are held at Edgewater Public Market 5505 W 20th Ave

  • Our Boulder Facility has a small parking lot that is shared with other businesses in the building. If you arrive early, there’s usually room to park between Valmont St and the orange cones, or alongside our garage door. If the lot is full, please park a few blocks down on Wilderness.

You can also park a bicycle in the bike rack near the front door.

Our Denver Facility is located near Edgewater Public Market. There’s usually plenty of parking in the shared lot and spots are not reserved.

Bicycles can be stored during class in the back of the facility near the restrooms, as long as the wheels haven’t recently rolled through mud.

  • Wear stretchy comfortable clothing. We recommend wearing long pants and having a long sleeve option in your bag for floorwork.

Most students go barefoot in class. You can wear indoor shoes if you need extra foot support.

Both facilities have drinking fountains and bottle refill stations, so bring a bottle if you like and please keep hydrated.

Bring a sense of humor and a willingness to move and challenge your body in new ways.
